The Flag Program

Thank you for participating in our American Flag program! We are now kicking off our 2020-2021 Flag program, and we need your support. This year the Salida Community Center is working to raise funds for our organization to support worthy causes in our community. On 6 major flag holidays, our members will put up in the morning, and take down in the evening, flags in front of the businesses who have donated to our program. Belonging to the program allows you to show your patriotism, as well as dress up Salida for the holidays.

Your annual tax deductible contribution of $40 to $60 (or more if you choose) ensures you will have a flag placed in front of your business on President’s Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Veteran’s Day. If there is any precipitation on the day of the holiday, we will not be able to place a flag at your business, secondary to standard flag etiquette.

Due to Covid-19 and the hardship that it has put on many of the businesses in the area we will continue to place flags however if at this time you are not able to donate we understand and will continue to place flags in front of your businesses. As a gift to the community we will be placing flags wherever possible.

The Community Center implements the food distribution program for seniors

and low income families which have increased to 725 people at this time. The Community Center is also proud to host the Annual Christmas dinner (provided to all at no cost to participants) with approximately 700 people, which includes home delivery as needed.
